What is BDS

BDS Course Educational Qualification

  • For admission in the BDS course, the candidate must have passed in 12th with 50-55% marks.
  • The candidate should have passed 12th with Science stream (Chemistry, Physics, and Biology).
  • Candidates’ age should be at least 17 years.
  • Qualified BDS Entrance Exam NEET for BDS Course.

BDS Course Duration

This is a Bachelor’s course in the Dental field of about 5 years. There is a 4-year course and 1-year internship in 5 years. You can do this internship at any recognized dental hospital.

How to do BDS Course

To get admission in the BDS course, first of all, the candidates should have passed 12th from the Science stream. After this one has to apply for the entrance exams NEET conducted at the national level. Apart from this, Common Entrance Exams are also conducted at the university level. You have to give these exams by going to the exam center given on your admit card. And you have to clear the exam.

  • Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research [JIPMER]

1. NEET

It is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses (MBBS, BDS) at the national level. This exam is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency).

2. MPDAT

This entrance exam is conducted for admission to the BDS course in Madhya Pradesh Medical Dental College. This is a state-level entrance exam, it is mandatory for the candidates to have passed 12th from MP Board to apply for this exam.

3. AICET BDS

 This exam is conducted for admission to undergraduate dental courses. AICET BDS is administered by the Association of Private Minority Medical.

4. JIPMER

This exam is conducted by the university for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses. This exam is organized at the national level.
